Announcing the release of ROMeo 6.0.1

We are pleased to announce the release of ROMeo 6.0.1. 


Registered users can download the patch at the ESD site. 


In addition to several bug fixes (see attached release notes for details), the following new features were added:

Converting HYSYS Models to PRO/II

Since version 7.0.5 PRO/II has had the capability to import an xml file generated by Hysys. The translator is accessed from the File menu Import Hysys®XML File… option and will automatically generate a PRO/II prz file from the Hysys xml file when run. Full details on the requirements to be successful in translating a Hysys xml file to PRO/II can be found in PRO/II's on-line help (Help menu -> Translator Help). However, prior to translation you should generally ensure that the following conditions are satisfied:

1. The xml file is from Hysys version 3.0 or later.

2. The xml file represents a solved Hysys flowsheet.

3. The Hysys flowsheet should have PRO/II supported units only.

4. The thermodynamic methods specified in Hysys should be supported in PRO/II.

5. The include “Calculated Values” and “Initial Column Estimates” should be enabled when generating the xml file.

Customizing the PRO/II Toolbar

The Toolbar in PRO/II allows the user to access key data entry windows and other program features quickly and easily. The user can configure the Toolbar to increase or reduce the number of items displayed, or to change the order in which items are displayed to suit personal preference. This can be beneficial on machines with low screen resolution and where a reduced or re-ordered Toolbar is preferred for clarity. Toolbar Customization is accessed through the View/Toolbar menu option.

Import PRO/II Column Data into KG-Tower


Column data from PRO/II can be exported to Koch-Glitsch’s KG-Tower software, which can perform detailed tray or packing calculations. This is an exclusive interface between PRO/II and KG-Tower, which enables the user to transfer column data and launch the KG-Tower application directly from PRO/II.

The interface is automatically supplied with PRO/II. The KG-TOWER software can be downloaded from the Koch-Glitsch website via the following link: http://www.koch-glitsch.com/koch/home/News_KGTOWER.asp

Custom Stream & Unit Operation Property Tables

Stream or unit data can be displayed in a tabular format on the PFD using either stream (SPT) or unit operation (UOPT) property tables. The PRO/II install comes with a number of pre-built SPT and UOPTs, but you can build and customize your own to suit your needs.

Tip: Back-up a DYNSIM simulation in XML form

The model configuration and graphics data for each DYNSIM model are saved in the S4M file. However, DYNSIM also provides the capability to back up the simulation in XML form which is a compact, readable format.

Stream Data Link function in PRO/II

The Stream Data Link allows you to establish a link between a stream in an open PRO/II simulation and one in another (inactive) PRO/II model, allowing you to transfer calculated stream data from one model to another. The inactive model is always the source of data; the open model is always the target. Data is always transferred from the source to the target database. The Data Link is not dynamic and data is copied only when the Update Stream Data Links command on the Input Menu is selected, or if the Update Now item is selected in this window.
