Did you know that you can run HTRI from inside PRO/II? SimSci has partnered with Heat Transfer Research, Inc. (HTRI) to deliver world class process heat transfer and heat exchanger technology within PRO/II. HTRI’s computer programs have become the de facto international standard for designing and rating heat exchangers. This technology is accessible via the Rigorous Heat Exchanger unit operation of PRO/II.

Within the unit op, simply choose HTRI as the Simulation Model (PRO/II is the default). As part of the Setup, choose to Initialize HTRI Data from an existing HTRI file (extension *.HTRI), or use the data already entered into the PRO/II heat exchanger model.

Once the data has been initialized, you access the HTRI GUI (graphical user interface) from the main Rigorous Heat Exchanger dialog box.
Note: Before the HTRI simulation software can be integrated into the rigorous heat exchanger model of PRO/II,  you must acquire a valid license directly from HTRI.

About PRO/II: PRO/II is the major product in the Process Engineering Suite (PES). This process simulation software optimizes plant performance by improving process design, operational analysis, and performing engineering studies. It is designed to perform rigorous heat and material balance calculations for a wide range of chemical processes.
