‘Money doesn’t grow on trees’ and it’s not in oilsands open pit mining either!

For almost four years, Total E&P has been working on the engineering preparation for the Joslyn North Mine, located about 40 miles northwest of Fort McMurray. Now, Total, along with its partners Suncor Energy Inc., Occidental Petroleum and Inpex Canada, has decided to can the project indefinitely. The economics just aren’t there to proceed any further.
