All Roads Lead to ERTC

According to the US Energy Information Administration, more than 40% of the overall refinery and petrochemicals operating expense, excluding feedstock purchases, comes from energy usage. Even greater, in the EU, refineries currently spend about 60% of their cash on energy. Rising energy costs and decreased margins have made it imperative to use technology to reduce energy consumption and improve profitability.

Under this premise, SimSci will offer its energy management solution at the ERTC Petrochemicals Conference in Rome on November 17-19, 2015. The ERTC Petrochemicals Conference provides senior petrochemical professionals with updates on ongoing projects, cutting edge technological developments, and solutions for challenges facing the petrochemical industry, particularly in Europe.

SimSci will present its integrated optimization solution that offers the processes industries real-time equipment monitoring, utilities optimization, and material balances in open- or closed-loop mode. This targeted utilities optimization software can be used to optimize and improve plant performance by minimizing usage of steam, water, fuel and other utilities, as well as, monitoring and using emissions of CO2, SOx, and NOx as constraints for possible operating conditions. Several customer applications will be shared. Don’t miss “Reducing the Perpetual Wasting of Energy in Petrochemicals” paper by Livia Wiley on November 18th at 2:55 pm local time.
